Lasers
Lasers used in aesthetic medicine rely on the emission of light at a precise wavelength, chosen to be absorbed by a specific target in the skin (melanin in the hair, pigment in a spot, haemoglobin in a vessel, ink in a tattoo depending on the case). It is this selectivity that allows action on a target while preserving surrounding tissue, provided the settings are adapted to each patient.
Intense pulsed light and LED
Other technologies use a broader-spectrum light (intense pulsed light) or specific wavelengths in LED form, with goals different from those of targeted lasers, particularly concerning skin quality or certain superficial cellular processes.
Mechanical and mixed technologies
Some devices, such as Endermologie (LPG) technologies, rely on combined mechanical action (suction, tissue mobilisation) rather than light. They address indications different from those of lasers or LED.
Why owning several technologies is not an argument in itself
A varied technology platform only makes sense if each device is used for the indication it genuinely corresponds to.
